Two Good Trading Opportunities Today

By |2019-01-02T21:02:04-05:00January 2, 2019 9:02 pm|

$ADIL $MRIN were two stocks that provided decent trading opportunities today. $MRIN I flagged earlier today for the members of ZorTrades_Beta when the stock was trading at $5.64, it went up 18% after that. $ADIL was one that I flagged intra-day, it closed up 26%. Both of these stocks you would've found in one of my favorite intra-day scans that captures mean reversion set-ups. If you study the most recent best-performing stocks every week, you will conclude that about 25-30% of them share a specific pattern on a consistent basis. By studying today's best-performing stocks you will know what's working now and [...]

Two Of The Best Trading Videos On YouTube

By |2019-01-01T17:08:13-05:00January 1, 2019 5:04 pm|

The first one is an old one but a good one, and probably my favorite, Mark Douglas author of Trading In The Zone sits down for nearly two hours talking about trading, the first 20-minutes will more than likely change the way you think about trading; What Makes A Successful Trader by Nick Radge is a great one as well, he talks about losing and winning streaks, he also delves into some of the most successful trend followers of our generation; Bill Dunn, Eckhardt, and others. "Remove yourself from the trading environment, think the next 1,000 trades."   ZorTrades_Beta Is Live; [...]

It Was An Epic Week, Here’s What You Missed

By |2018-12-29T06:45:31-05:00December 29, 2018 6:45 am|

Monday the 24th it was a half day for the markets, and by the close, it looked, seemed, and felt like the wheel where falling off. The $SPY closed lower for the 8th day in a row, down -12% in the last 11 days, and to boot, it gapped down after the 1 o'clock close. From Monday's low to Friday's high the $SPY rallied 7.5%, it was an epic week. It Was An Epic Day Yesterday

By |2018-12-27T10:53:13-05:00December 27, 2018 10:28 am|

The market had a rubber band style rebound yesterday, quite frankly we were stretched and due for a bounce. The Dow Jones was up 4.98%, the S&P-500 +4.96%, and the Nasdaq was up +5.84%. One breadth indicator that caught my attention was the number of stocks up 4% or more on the day; this is a Pradeep Bonde indicator you can learn about it HERE. One thousand seven hundred seventy-nine (1,779) stocks were up 4% or more yesterday; this is a huge amount, only a few times in the last 8-years have we come close printing a figure this high. [...]

Can You Hear Me Now

By |2018-12-26T19:10:33-05:00December 26, 2018 6:54 pm|

Verizon $VZ has been holding up exceptionally well relative to the market's recent meltdown. Based on Investors Business Daily RS rating calculation, $VZ is outperforming 92% of the stocks in the market. $VZ has been trading sideways for roughly 5.4 years between $45 and $54. Investors have gotten paid to wait, $VZ sports a 4.5% yield right now, however, I believe the stock is ready to start moving higher the minute there is some pressure relieved from the market that will not only pay the investors but the traders as well. I'm sure you heard the saying; the bigger the base, [...]

Insiders Are Backing Up The Truck

By |2018-12-26T14:51:39-05:00December 26, 2018 2:51 pm|

Insiders have taken this recent sell-off to buy some stocks. As you can see on the chart below, they tend to become aggressive on the buy side during market sell-offs, August 2011, and the middle of 2015. This makes all the sense in the world, they are probably seeing bargains in the stocks they know best. Finviz is a great source to find insider information for free, you use this LINK to see all the latest insider buying info. The Pain Train

By |2018-12-25T19:40:55-05:00December 25, 2018 7:40 pm|

The pain train for the bulls started in October, and it has accelerated this month. Month to date the S&P500 is down -14.99%, the Dow Jones is down -14.64%, the Nasdaq 100 is down -15.27, and the small caps are leading the pack, they are down -17.24% this month so far. As of right now, there's only one stock in the S&P500 above its 10-day moving average, as of matter of fact the index is the most oversold its been all year. These type of oversold levels have led to relief bounces in the past, so far this month oversold [...]

Another Great Interview By Druckenmiller

By |2018-12-24T07:00:20-05:00December 24, 2018 6:56 am|

Just this past week Druckenmiller blessed us with another awesome interview, this time he sat down with Bloomberg for an hour. Earlier this year he was on Real Vision and spoke about when and how he made most of his money and how the landscape of trading has changed, you can watch that HERE. In this recent interview, he covers all the bases. Stan's best years trading where during bear markets but it was achieved by trading treasuries not shorting stocks, which he believes it is not easy to do. "It's funny because we talked about how I've done well in [...]

More Extreme Readings

By |2018-12-19T18:55:58-05:00December 19, 2018 6:55 pm|

We had another market sell-off today that led to more extreme breadth readings. After today's beating, only 175 stocks up 25% or more in the last 65-days. This breadth indicator was created by Pradeep Bondee along with other handy breadth indicators, you can check them out HERE.  In the past when we've had less than 200 stocks up 25% or more in the last 65-days, it led to significant bounces, this is just another form of capitulation. Can we go lower? YES. But the risk-reward from here is tilting in the bulls favor. Let's look at some charts so we can [...]
